Parking Locations & Maps
DU offers accessible parking options for all members of our community. From short-term parking for visitors to lots for permit-carrying students to those intended for our faculty and staff, you'll find no matter who you are, there's a straightforward parking option available to you.
Below, find an interactive map of campus parking, as well as info on the different types of lots and facilities.
Categories of Parking Facilities
-
Restricted Parking Lots
Restricted parking lots are identified by the color red and a letter designator on the campus parking map as well as the sign at the entrance of each restricted lot. These lots are often restricted by an automated gate-controlled barrier. A programmed parking permit is required for access to the lot.
-
General Parking Lots
General parking lots are identified by the color yellow and a 100-series number on the campus parking map. They are available for parking on a first-come, first-served basis to individuals displaying a valid University of Denver parking permit. Unless otherwise indicated, permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays and when school is not in session.
-
Visitor Parking
These parking lots are identified by the color green and a 300-series number on the campus parking map. They are intended for short-term use by visitors to the campus. Each station contains instructions indicating methods of payment accepted at that station, including the ParkMobile app. Long-term users are expected to obtain an appropriate parking permit for a fee. Several types of parking facilities are available in this category:
- Metered parking. These facilities are controlled by a conventional parking meter. All users must pay to park in these spaces from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week, unless otherwise indicated. The time allowed is limited to a maximum of 3 hours, excluding short-term meters. Parking permits are not valid in these areas unless specifically indicated on the permit.
- Central Pay Stations. These facilities are controlled by a central pay station location. All users must pay to park in these spaces from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week, unless otherwise indicated. Each station contains instructions indicating the methods of payment accepted at that station. Parking permits are not valid in these areas unless specifically indicated on the permit. Please note instructions at the pay station.
-
Recreation
Lots for non-DU affiliated participants in a recreation program at the Ritchie Center are identified by the color blue. A permit is required to park in Recreation lot and is issued after approval from the Recreation department. University of Denver faculty, staff, students, and student employees at the Ritchie Center are not approved to park in recreation lots.
-
Scooter Parking
Scooter parking is only permitted in areas that are identified by an S followed by a lot number.
-
Service Vehicle Parking
These areas are strictly designated for University-owned service vehicles actively engaged in service or maintenance of University property. These motor vehicles must display a University logo seal on the vehicle door or a valid University Service Vehicle permit from the rearview mirror.
-
Loading Zones
Loading zones include any area designated for loading and unloading by traffic control devices or the loading dock area of any University-owned or controlled building.
University vendors may park in loading zones in the course of their business. Vendor vehicles should have permanent vehicle markings identifying the vendor company. Vendors in unmarked vehicles must obtain a temporary loading zone parking permit from the Department of Parking Services.
University Departments may obtain loading permits from Parking Services by contacting our offices prior to their needed use.
Loading zones have a maximum time limit of 20 minutes and are restricted at all times unless otherwise indicated by traffic control devices.
Pedestrian walkways and sidewalks may not be used for loading and unloading without prior explicit permission from the Department of Parking Services.
All vehicles using a loading zone area shall activate the vehicle emergency flashing lights to indicate the process of loading and unloading.
