Mental Health

Community health includes mental health. Over the last few years, many of us have invested more significant physical and emotional energy into our physical health than our emotional and mental health. At DU we take a public health view of well-being which includes physical and mental health. 

DU offers a collection of resources to students and employees. As we shift our approach from COVID-19 response to a public health view, we aim to elevate our community's awareness of those opportunities and encourage individuals to take advantage of them.

What resources are available to students?  

 

What resources are available to employees?  

  • Community events, like the Crimson Classic or Wellness Week, help build a social network of support.  
  • Cigna, our insurance provider, provides incentive programs through its MotivateME Program.   
  • DU's Employee Assistance Program is available to all benefited employees at no cost. It is also separate from medical insurance and helps individuals manage various challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief/loss, substance abuse, anger management, work-related pressure, and stress.   
  • Cigna members also have access to behavioral health technologies—Happify and iPrevail.   
  • Employees not on the University's health insurance plan can find additional resources on the HRIC (Human Resources and Inclusive Community) website.
