About

The Center for a Regenerative promotes social and ecological justice by empowering the University of Denver community to engage in critical, creative, and systems-thinking, and by serving as a hub for developing student, staff, and faculty ecological justice scholars who are dedicated to creating a just, joyful, and regenerative future. The Center provides leadership and coordinates units across campus in the intentional design of a just and regenerative future for DU and the community; interfaces between curriculum and institutional, community and regional sustainability practices; engages students to build community and learn through authentic, problem-based, interdisciplinary practice and research; provides resources for faculty and staff, students, student organizations  and living and learning communities; and facilitates social-ecological justice education across campus. The Center services the whole campus community, with increasing focus on serving our neighbors and local community.

Regenerative Internships & Fellowships

Each year, the Center for a Regenerative Future brings on around 20 undergraduate interns and as many as 10 graduate fellows for a multi-year program that helps bridge the gap between classroom study and tangible experience in the field of regenerative futures, as well as centers wellbeing and community-building efforts. Students learn the basics of co-creating a regenerative future by working alongside peers and mentors to tackle ecological justice challenges and issues on campus and in the broader community.

This internship and fellowship experience is supported by a year-long curriculum, engaging workshops, and active dialogue and discussion. These experiences also provide professional and resilience skills necessary to navigate Global Environmental Change and the global polycrisis. During their internships and fellowships, students take engage in opportunities with the broader DU community, completing meaningful projects, and build relationships with diverse peers and mentors with whom they can develop their abilities, skills, and knowledge. It is a one-of-a-kind program that offers a transformative learning experience, helping create passionate and resilient professionals who emerge ready to take on the challenges of a changing world.
